This chapter starts at Birkenau and the first “selections” take place. Elie and his father stay together, but get separated from his sister and mother. They are made to go to the left of Dr. Mengele. Then they see a pit where babies are being burned, and one for adults. Elie finds this unbelieveable, and is scarred by such a flaw in humanity. Everyone in the camp is scared to death by all these killings and harsh feelings toward the Jews.
This chapter was quite different from the others for the fact that it showed just exactly what was happening at the concentrations camps. There was no false hope and pleasant ideas that they would have a peaceful exsistence in the camp. This chapter gave brutal insight to the holocaust and was necessary for the story.

I thought that your post was good, but you could have put in a picture or mabye a quote.
I like the detail you use in the blog. I like it when bloggers make me feel like I can go into reading the blog with no knowledge of the story and come out with a lot of info. Good Job.
This was one of the longer sextions so you could have probably included a little more information, but what you have here is very important to the story. so good job.
Nice job colin. I liked it how you told people what you thought. Maybe you could have made this longer since it was a long section.
i thought your post was pretty nice. i agree, i does show us how brutal the Holocaust really was. but you could have made it longer
I liked how you were able summarized the whole chapter and able to capture all of the details. I liked how you were able to relate this chapter with all of the others. Good job Colin.
I agree that this chapter was different from the preceding chapters. I like how you said it showed reality. Good work.
