Chapter 8

As Elie arrives all he wants to do is rest. Elie was surprisingly angered when his dad asked him to please let him die. Elie came into the barracks and his dad had not eaten food since he was about to die . Elie’s dad was beaten as he grew weaker and weaker. No one would help him since everyone is solipsistic in the camp. His dad was taken out and killed one night while he was asleep.
This conveys a new terror that was faced in the concentration camps, the fear that someone close to you may be near you at night but the next morning would be gone. I can only imagine how Elie handles the news of his father's death so well. He is much more mentally tough then i can every hope to be mostly because of the circumstances he was placed into.
